It tastes just like raisins.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

I would. Surely if it was farmed for the purpose of meat it would be no different to beef. I would imagine it would taste similar to camel.

I always come back to the theory that god wanted us to eat all animals, thats why they are made of meat.....
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

Mrs Theri and I checked in at a hotel in Kumamoto a few years back. Kumamoto's speciality is basashi (raw horse). Dinner was part of the deal and the waitress brought us a set with various foods on it and a charcoal cooker (in Japan making the customers cook their own food is a popular idea in a lot of restaurants). Knowing that Kumamoto is famous for raw horse meat I suspicioulsy pointed to some red meat with flecks of white fat through it and asked the waitress what it was. She repilied that it was basashi. Now my theory is that if it is a friend (eg. a dog, a cat or a horse) you don't eat it, so I told the waitress that I couldn't eat it.
She replied "Oh don't worry, you can cook it on the fire, you don't have to eat it raw."
I corrected her assumption, "No, this is horse. I can't eat horse."
She was very confused, both about my culinary preferences and about what to do. So I got her to replace the offending basashi with some chicken, which is cheaper so that was no problem for them.
Next day, while we were driving around the volcano of Aso-san, we followed a trailer which had two despondent looking horses sticking their heads out. In Kumamoto horses getting moved about aren't on their way to give fun rides to the kids. I was so glad that I had been so insistant the night before. I felt bad enough just looking at the poor animals without the knowledge that I was still digesting one.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

So are you a vegetarian?

Or do you really hate going on nice long country drives. All those sad little lambs, morose cows and petrified chickens must give you terrible indigestion... ;)

I ate a UHU glue stick as a kid, wasn't too bad. Pre-processing it may taste even better!
