Strong and valid point smac.

But for me personally: bah humbug re Christmas.
He's still my hero even if he is a little bit crap.

Rushby,
I repeatedly ask my family not to include me in gift giving.
I don't exchange cards at work.
So no, I don't celebrate christmas- I do however accept the occasion as a day to spend time with family.

The pleasure of giving gifts and seeing your kids faces on Christmans morning, spending time with your family and generally being a bit more charitable for a couple of days can't be bad, whether you are a Christian or not and whether you celebrate it as a Christian festival or not.

Personally, I like having the family around, all the kids and grandkids come round and we have a bloody good time. I'm not a Christian or rather a Believer, but I don't see myself as a hypocrit either.

But I also accept the Christmas is spawned from the Christian Faith and understand thet without that faith, we wouldn't be on hi=oliday in the 1st place.

Each to their own, live and let live.

There's a whole new debate.

Santa Claus or Father Christmas?

Father Christmas for me (or as the littlest smac is saying... Far Careful - I thought she was swearing at me the first time I heard it).
