would be more accurate...all it records is any serious defaults (you would have to be dumb for it to get to this stage) and credit enquiries you have made....it doesnt track what your repayment history is like (unless you default)

BTW anyone can get a copy of their own report, its not as mysterious as many believe!

I think Credit Rating comes from the US where there is some type of rating system....


And the UK Dutchy. Here there are two mainstream rating agencies, Equifax and Experian. You can purchase your own credit score and profile, costs about $12 - $25 depending on if you want a lightweight summary or an in depth on. Gives you a score based on your bank account history, loan payment history, defaults, CCJ's, address, electorial registry etc. I use another called 1st Report for my business. Tends to specialise more on commercial credit scoring.
