sheesh you'd have to be living under a rock over the last 10 or so years to not have seen THIS writing on the wall! thankfully the Mitsi workforce has been whittled away to under 1000 - i think at one stage they had a SA payroll of over 3, 500 employees.. i feel for them however feel that this is another inevitable factor of globalisation .. lunchey

Good point raised by Frank Agostino on radio this morning

If we all get fired up and boycott Mitsubishi imports then we end up harming more than just the 1000 workers in the factory. Job losses could spread to the dealer network because I think they still have strong sales on the imports at the moment.

Just a thought anyway ....

Perhaps in the heat of the moment a bit ungrateful?

I think I read a few days ago that twice as many "Mitsubishis" were made in Adelaide then Chryslers ever where.

So maybe you could look at the last XX(23?) years as 20 extra years that Chrysler would not have provided.

I also had a quiet chuckle when they showed the unhappy Mitsi staff, and more then one was wearing a Holden Motorsport shirt. Also far more non-Mitsubishi's in your carpark then not was never a great advertisement for the brand.

Ungrateful?
The workers didn't pump millions of dollars into Mitsubishi like the Government did (not that I blame the Japs, I blame the government).

Dunno but I loved Chargers but would never touch a Mitsubishi of any sorts.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrysler_Australia

Chrysler Australia and Mitsubishi Motors Australia

Chrysler departed the Australian car market in 1981 when it sold the remainder of its shareholding in Chrysler Australia Ltd to the Mitsubishi Motor Corporation of Japan. The new owner renamed the company "Mitsubishi Motors Australia Ltd" and this company continues to operate today as a manufacturer and importer of Mitsubishi vehicles.
