I agree Wedgie. There is a good balance here.

There are a couple of overseas fora I had used, briefly, that I have given up on, because of the extreme abusiveness and gang-bullying that arises. I may get a bit of flack here for my non-standard perspectives, and preparedness to state them, but it is within civilised bounds, and people seem to know when it has gone far enough..

On the other sites I concluded I was wasting too much of my life getting involved in the interminable exchanges, as the only alternative to giving in to those who only wanted their socio-political views and values to be heard. On those sites I got quite a few supportive PMs, but no one was game to post them openly as they do here.
