I don't think anyone has mentioned this. As the population gets fatter and fatter won't airlines take into account they may have more and more people taking 2 seats for the price of 1, then increase the price of all seats on the plane to pay for it?

Agree with Yetti though, being someone tall it annoys the $hit out of me to see a small person in an exit seat and to then get stuck behind someone who inconsiderately reclines their seat on a flight to Melbourne! Sit up straight for an hour FFS!

Spot on Zelezny! This is exactly the sorts of problems it could lead to! The rest of the normal sized people having to subsidize the consequences of those that ate themselves into a double sized ass! The double edged sword, as has already been mentioned is that by only paying for the one seat some potential discouragement has been waivered. Pile it on fellas! It's like going to dinner with somebody that scoffs themselves stupid and then insists that the bill be divided equally.
