havent you heard of the age old saying "you always want what you cant have"?

makes you wonder if doing drugs (marijuana for example) in australia would be such an "in" thing to do if they legalised it.

Spot on WGT...there is already a huge trade in fake ciggies around the world...people would just buy them 'off the back of a lorry' etc.

You've no idea the hell I'm having trying not to start again at the moment...after giving up 5 years ago I'd kill for a packet right now ~x( :-ss :( thank god for ice cream.

well done JAS, keep at it!! its harder than non-smokers think. I quit for like 4 months, but discovered i had to quit drinking alcohol as well (the two seem to go hand in hand). the next time i had a drink...back to the drawing board.

i figure i will quit when im ready. there's no point trying to do something when your hearts not in it!

ps. i recommend the fruity mentos everytime you get a craving!

Thanks WGT...I was the same as you...tried once before but the social scene then made it almost impossible. Finally just decided one day that I'd had enough of them and stopped...I found the nicotine gum worked for me...only took 6 months get off that. I did find that I was stalking smokers in town for a while and standing downwind at the bus stop just to get a bit of passive ;)

You'll know when you're ready to stop...much easier and you won't end up resenting anyone that nags you into stopping. Good luck when you do decide :D

You're right. Everyone goes through the pre-contemplative stage (ie. couldn't give a rats), contemplative (thinking about it) & active (trying to quit) stages.

Good news is that everyone eventually stops smoking eventually. Mind you, some only manage it when they die.......

I'm all for smokers. I see it as the more tax $$$ they raise with ciggies, the less they'll hit important stuff like beer & petrol!
