You know the kind...the ones that make you go :-o or think WTF...don't have to be funny just bizarre.

Try this for starters...

Police are hunting a "dangerously radioactive" college principal on child porn charges.

Seriously-ill Thomas Leopold, who had recently been given large doses of radiation for a thyroid condition, skipped bail shortly before his trial two weeks ago, got on a ferry to Ireland and disappeared.

The 42-year-old, head of a tutorial college in Harrow, Middlesex, is said to be dangerous in terms of radioactivity for six weeks after his treatment.

Southwark Crown Court judge John Price, who issued a warrant for his arrest, accused him of "doing everything to make it as difficult as he can to let the trial go ahead".

He added: "Please warn officers that when he is arrested he might be radioactive. This is not a joke."

Former banker Leopold, from Hammersmith, west London, faces five charges of making and possessing child porn after allegedly downloading a library of the forbidden material in 2006.

He was first arrested in July that year and his case fixed for October, but his ill health forced an adjournment until February 9 this year. Four days before the hearing he drove on to the ferry in South Wales and headed to County Wexford.

Although stopped and questioned by Special Branch officers at the time, they released him after he showed them his radiation card and insisted his bail conditions had been changed so he could visit his mother in Ireland.

Jeannie Mackay, defending, said her client, who was in "chronic poor health", was on his own and "wasn't in contact with others".

She said: "His doctor confirmed he is dangerous, in terms of radioactivity, for a period of six weeks after treatment."

The pigeons were wrapped in padded envelopes on each leg

Customs officials said the 23-year-old was searched after authorities discovered two eggs in a vitamin container in his luggage.

They found the pigeons wrapped in padded envelopes and held to each of the man's legs with a pair of tights.

Officials also seized seeds in his money belt and an undeclared eggplant.

The alleged bird smuggler, who arrived in Melbourne on Sunday on a flight from Dubai, has been questioned....

Another one.. New laws give mistresses de facto rights:
http://au.news.yahoo.com/a/-/latest/535 ... to-rights/

Here's the bit that bites!
Men or women who have a second relationship outside a marriage are now liable to legal action in the Family Court should the second partner decide he or she deserves income support or a share of assets. This is particularly the case if a child is involved.

Note: not only if a child is involved.
Is this the legendary "legislation for moral responsibility" we all thought could never happen?

Seriously, the legislation is described as aimed at protecting those in de facto relationships, including same sex ones, and ending discrimination under the law, but it appears to be a bit open ended, and the covering article is not clear about whether it may apply to more casual relationships that last for more than two years, even without living together....

12-hour Viagra-fuelled orgy ends in death

THIS was one bet Sergey Tuganov was determined to win.

British newspaper, The Sun, reports the 28-year-old Russian man died after taking a bottle of Viagra pills for an apparent 12-hour sex romp.

Two women told Moscow police they bet Tuganov $US4300 that he wouldn't be able to satisfy them during a non-stop half day sex marathon.

The mechanic died of a heart attack minutes after winning the wager, Moscow police said.

"We called emergency services but it was too late, there was nothing they could do," said one of the female participants who identified herself only as Alina.

Medics said he most likely died from the quantity of Viagra he had ingested.

There are 30 pills in an average 100mg bottle of Viagra.
