Paving quote

Postby Sploosh » Wed Apr 15, 2009 8:36 pm

Anyone know of a reputable paving contractor, for the Marion area? It's a pretty small job. I'm looking to get someone to remove approx 3 sq. metres of grass, and replace with pavers to match (as close as possible) existing pavers. A couple of spots might be a bit fiddly, working around 2 newly installed pergola posts.

Anyone with either a rough idea of how it might cost and/or the name of someone who comes out to give quotes in the Marion area, that'd be great, before I hit the yellow pages.

Mate pavers are anywhere from $20 to $45 a m2 depending on size and thickness, so either way your not looking at too much, probably wont find too many tradesmen who would jump at the 3m2 contract unfortunetly

it's pretty simple really. Mastering it is the key. 3sqm... you wont even get tradies come over for that sort of area. I did about 150sqm at home in two separate areas after doing a WEA course.

A gang of blokes won't be interested, but you may get the local handyman to come out. Generally for a job like paving they will do just as good a job as the dedicated trades. Look up in the messenger and give them a call.

Second worst job around a home, behind plastering (IMO)!

Yes,I have used them as has a mate of mine several times.
I had the cornice erected in my bathroom by one of their people.Small job, nobody else interested.Charged me $40 and apologised that he had to charge me an extra fiver for glue. I gave him $50 and a six pack. I apologised that I didn't have a slab on hand for him.

I actually enjoy that one - although I have only tiled walls/splashbacks and not floors.
