I have a membership at Fitness First on King William St and havent been since about March last year. I was seeing a personal trainer and it wasnt really helping. After I got back into footy i stopped going and just playing footy...with pretty much no push up or weights and have put on more muscle in the last 3 months than i did seeing a personal trainer for 5 months.

Ive been meaning to cancel it but now they want me to have a meeting with "customer service" people, who I reckon will try and talk me into staying, then probably try and put me on a more expensive plan.

Before joining I thought it would be good, but now I think if you play sport and are training or playing 3 times a week its a pretty big waste of money. If I wasnt playing footy it would probably be a different story...id be there at least twice a week.

HH, does that mean you've been paying 25 bucks a week for the past year without going?

I used to be a member of Fitness First at Payneham. Full of ppl wanting to be 'seen' and people who wanted to socialise. Overcrowded and massively overpriced. No personal service whatsoever, you are just seen as a number on the payroll rather than a customer.
Yes, the equipment is first class and there is a lot of eye candy, but for me FF is a little too sanitised and wasn't the right environment for someone who just wanted to do their workout and leave.
And when I decided to cancel my membership, gee was that a headf*#%!

I'm with Wedgie on this one, if you've got the space invest in your own equipment.
