Both the minimum and maximum temperatures were slightly above average:

Minimum: 12.97 (Avg. 12.66), 47st out of 123 years
Maximum: 22.86 (Avg. 22.26), 41st out of 123 years
Mean: 17.92 (Avg. 17.46), 43rd out of 123 years

The rainfall not surprisingly was above average, with 68mm falling at Kent Town. 62.8mm of that fell in the last week.
This is 24.4mm above average, and ranks equal 29th out of 171 Aprils.

The last 6 days felt about 20 degrees below average to me.
I remember seeing a North v West game at Prospect in the 80s in April (I think) when it was in the high 30s.

That would be this match on the 29th of March 1986:

Round 1 1986
North 6.2 11.7 14.9 20.13 (133)
West 2.4 4.5 9.8 12.14 (86)
Prospect, 4619

The maximum temperature that day was 37.9 - a record for that day. The hottest March day (and still is) was recorded 23 days earlier - 41.9.

And I believe that is the hottest day that a League match has been played on. There would have been hotter during the pre-season, but not the Premiership season. Only five days later, on the 3rd of April, that months' record was set. 36.7 in the Thursday between Rds 1 and 2; which of course was broken in 2005 - twice. The 36.9 on consecutive Saturdays (2nd and 9th) I would say be next in terms of hottest days League matches were played on.

Hotter than Grand Final day 1991? Coincidentally also featuring North and West...

Yes, 31.7 in 1991. The hottest day recorded in September remains on the day the 1961 Grand Final was played. The 30th of that month was 35.1.

Came down to Adelaide forr a short holiday last week, FFS it was cold from thursday onwards, blowing a gale on the weekend. SO nothing has changed for the weather back home. Was glad to return Brissy in a way as it has been round 30 all week this week . :D
