I won a menswear voucher from the SAFM secret song competition in the mid-80's.
Also won a microwave and water heater in Japan because my wife wrote my name on some cut out coupons she found in a magazine.
I also picked the draw on Footy bet between the Power and the Lions at the Gabba a few years back. I'd spent the whole day studying for exams and was a dirt poor student and heard the result on the radio as I was driving home. I yahooed and screamed for about 5 minutes and headed straight to the pub to collect, but discovered that I had to wait until the following day. I spent all night planning how I would spend the hundreds if not thousands that it would pay. My priority back in those days was to buy a pack of cigarettes.
Next day I discovered it paid only 4 dollars a unit or something miserable like that, so I collected only 25 dollars. The fact that it was the second draw in consecutive years that the two teams had played brought the odds in unfortunately.
So I bought a pack of cigarettes.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

That was it. Fairly common knowledge among Doctor Who fans.

Y'know Lalla Ward is now married to Richard Dawkins?

My missus' cousin won the "Before The Game" banner competition in 2004. He won a free trip for 2 to the AFL Grand Final, tickets to a breakfast function, limo transfers etc, all expenses paid basically. He took my Brother -In Law, both avid Port supporters still the best day of their lives they reckon.
