Long Weekend Suggestions

Am looking to get away with the family for New Years long weekend. I got 3 young kids and would like suggestions that isnt too far from north east Adelaide suburbs. Maximum 3 hour drive, budget $300 including petrol. Camping is ok but must have facitilities for the little woman. Dont wanna go up the river as we can't relax for fearing the kids are near the drink.Can you suggest Caravan Parks? National Parks? Tourist Attractions etc etc

If they're not booked out, a cabin at West Beach caravan park might be fun for the kids.
Playground, other kids, fireworks at Glenelg on NYE and of course there's the beach.
Apparently many people living in Adelaide go and stay there just for the novelty of it.
Especially if Mum or Dad can't get leave and have to keep going to work.

Hmmm...... I know! Lets all leave the 'tin lids' at home with 'the trouble & strife'!
Must book a cabin. See you all at the party !

If you manage a nice getaway for that you are doing remarkably well.

Agreed, his $300 isn't going to go far so I would have to suggest the same. Take the long way on the drive ( perhaps via Hahndorf and Strath ) make the kids think they are miles from home....

yep down Yorkes (innes N.Park) get there early for a good camp site. a few of the camp sites have long drops i think?? or try deep creek conservation park (fleuriuo Peninsula) long drops only ammenities their i think. great beaches, kangaroos, walking etc. endless opportunities in this state.

Good luck getting accommodation at all on NYE, alot of caravan parks require a minimum nights stay (which can vary from 3 to 5 to 7) during these peak periods.
