Problem is that if you send Johno to Harbourtown he'll end up in Bali !!!!
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

i'm headin over to the States in Dec/Jan with the trouble and strife and grandmother-in-law.

Wifey has always wanted to set up an import business for designer handbags and purses etc as the cost of them in the US is far cheaper than what we can get them here. E.G shes picked up a couple of Coach, Gucci, Luis Vitton bags for about 60-75% cheaper than what she can get them here, AND they are legit, not the copied rubbish...

would this be a viable business venture? would there be any of you mob that would get on board or know anyone that would like that kind of thing. Effectively we could get the bags/purses to you at around half the price* of what they would cost here...

(is what i'm doing illegal on this site right now?!?)

*conditions apply... ;)
I am not talking to you for 3 minutes because you punched me in the head and it hurt and that was not okay for you to do

OK how far into the "import" business have you looked ? Quite often people think, ohh yeah bring back 1000 T-Shirts from Bali, and sell them at an increased price and make some $$$$.

Doesn't always work out that way, as generally, as you will have to import large quantities, you will have to ship and declare through Customs. Bang on the import tax and other fees etc and then the cheaper price doesn't sound so cheap anymore.

You need to find a niche market and corner it to make the $$$$

well it wouldn't be a massive business. more just for a few friends, plus then our trips to the US would be tax deductable as they would be a business expense... i know thee is a lot more to it than just what we're looking at but there's many people we know who are keen for a few handbags...

definately have to do some more groundwork on it though. i don't know the slightest about the import taxes and all that jazz...
