I thought I better make this public as I get the occasional email me asking why an account hasn't been activated.
For a while now we've had the settings on this site set to "Admin Activation" which basically means when someone registers for the site an Admin (myself of Diss) has to manually activate your account to let you post.
This is to stop trolls and has been very effective.
The policy has been, if people register using an email using an IP address we've heard of, for eg mailto:safooty@bigpond.com.au we will activate them within 24 hours.
BUT if you register with a hotmail or yahoo account we will only activate your account if you contact us by email and make yourself known to us.
This is to stop people logging on with multiple accounts or being trouble makers.
New users that appear to be spam bots we just delete.
If you've registered with a hotmail address or perhaps a lesser known IP email address and are yet to be activated just send me an email and let me know who you are and I'll activate your account within 24 hours.

Also I think the activation page says an email will be sent to you when you're activated but I don't think it automatically does that, so just try again 24 hours later and everything should be hunky dorey, if your account hasn't been activated within 24 hours then send me an email and I'll manually activate it ASAP.
