Bugger...thanks for reminding me

Around here the little b*****ds turn up armed with fireworks so now we all turn out the lights and pretend not to be at home. Unfortunately the nice well behaved kids that used to call and we were happy to give sweets etc are kept in by their parents now or only allowed to go to organised parties. Bloody shame but can't blame them when my region apparently now has the highest crime rate in Scotland amongst the 'Under 8's'

I bought Lollies and Chocolates and personally went to every house
in my street and handed them to our KNOWN neighbours the day before.
Ive been doing it for several years.
Several kids in the street then Trick or Treat dressed in costumes.
Its fun and parents and kids have a ball doing it.
All kids are strictly supervised by all parents involved and only
go the to houses where the residents are very well known to us.

HOWEVER
To allow very young kids going to strange houses [and or unsupervised]
is totally unacceptable and ultimately irreprehensible if a child strikes trouble.

I told the three punks that came to my door to come back at Thanksgiving.

Had a group of the little buggers (unsupervised) come and bang on the door and windows of our house... while our toddler and newborn were trying to sleep. Needless to say they didn't get any treats, just a nice barrage of insults, and the missus and I got another hour of kids crying while they were trying to go back to sleep!! Great night!!

Interesting...
Whilst I didn't/don't celebrate Halloween, I'd prefer to celebrate that over christmas, easter & any other christian holidays, as being of English/European heritage, Paganism is more prominent than Christianity in our heritage...
Without trying to open a can of worms, & enter a debate for which I'm ill-equipped, all I'll say is that Christianity as I see it, has Middle Eastern origins, whilst Paganism has English/European origins- you figure it out...
