Other than being annual, Labour Day fits your holiday 2 already...........leave it as it is!Squawk wrote:There is often talk about a public holiday for the Melb Cup. As well, people variously proclaim other occasions should be recognised with a public holiday.
If we had 2 new public holidays in SA at the expense of another two public holidays, which two would you scrap and which 2 would you bring in?
Me:
Scrap - Labour Day and Queens Birthday
Keep Volunteers Day (which is the same day as the Queens Birthday public holiday) and shift it to later in the year - eg July/August.
Public Holiday 2 should be announced annually and be one off recognition for commemoration of a special historical or present day event.
Your thoughts?

Then where did your Elizabeth comment come from? Surely not living in Glenelg helps you understand not all Centrals supporters live in Elizabeth?

We'll never agree on which days are important. For example I live in Melbourne but can see no reason to have a PH for a bloody horse race I don't even listen to.
Alterntatively every week should be a 4 day working week...??

We all book annual leave for that day at the start of the year.
