My mates are leaving in droves and once they taste the Melbourne and Sydneys they never want to come back.
We just need some atmosphere and somethng to do.

exactly right mate - 100% agree.. and people say more people wont go to the footy! attendences will increase! we need to make Adelaide a good place to visit. and a good place to enjoy ourselves

Took my class to Parliament House the other day. We were given an insight into Adelaide's unfortunate history of half-baked, over-time and underdone development with a talk about the original Parliament House designs which if you aren't aware, were considerably more grand being double the size with an iconic White House style dome on top. The building began and after running out of money and much squabbling (sound familiar?) it was eventually finished - 50 years later. Half its intended size, no dome, a compromise on-the-cheap version that screams Southern Expressway. Y'know, you want to be positive but what is it with us? It's actually enshrined in our culture.

going to the footy on a friday or saturday night would become the norm for me and my mates anytime we head into the city for a night on the cans. at the moment, i only really go when collingwood are playing, or if there is a team i would like to watch such as Geelong and if i have nothing better to do with my time.
footy in the city, i could see my personal attendance rate go from 2 or 3 games max a year, to 7-10 games.

This is a good comment. I love Adelaide and get pissed off whenever people bag it as I don't feel the need to bag other Australian cities. However, I am earning over twice what I was in my home town and if I remained I'd be still on the rent cycle and getting nowhere. Even though I miss the place I just can't afford to live there.
