Will Smyth replace KG?

Postby NO-MERCY » Tue Jul 29, 2008 10:32 am

Apparently since his exit as 36ers coach Smyth has been working hard on opening a door for himself at 5AA.
Maybe thats whats led to the sacking of KG?
Rumour is they are grooming him up as the replacement, gee i hope not. :(
I find the bloke very boring & definately not the ideal replacement for Kenneth George.
Anyone else heard any whispers?

I don't agree with them getting rid of KG but they'd better not replace him with Chris McDermott.
Certainly won't be listening any more if they do.

I'm with you...

Wildy or Rowe have to be the replacement for KG.

As for Cornesy, I think he is sensational to listen to. He is as stubborn as anyone you'd ever meet, often he cuts in and doesn't let people finish what they're going to say, and can take his discussions down a course that only he and a select few would agree with, but that's all part of his make-up.

I love Cornesy. He is still a massive Glenelg man, and gets down to games whenever he can. He still openly talks about the club and what it means to him, and if anyone here has seen the "Tigers of Old" DVD, they would agree that Cornesy's sentiments about the club are perhaps the most inspiring to hear throughout that DVD.

Maybe it's a Glenelg bias that allows me to overlook some of his faults, but I think he is insightful and interesting to listen to.

Kym Dillon

Postby Sojourner » Tue Jul 29, 2008 11:18 am

I suggested this earlier, yet after thinking about it a little more Kym Dillon seems the only suitable replacement for KG on 5AA.

The case can be better made for Dillon having knowlege on the highest number of sports because of his role as the sports presenter on Ch9.

What it probably comes down to is if 5AA can offer him enough coin to get him away from Ch9 & MMM.

5AA have won the ratings in recent times and would have to be cashed up as a result, so there is no reason that they could not do it if they wanted to.

Anyway another name to throw into the mix!

5AA would get no where near what he'd be on at MMM.

If they replaced KG with PAUL Mcdermott , i'd probably listen to them.

Seriously, i dont hate KG but its about time they made a change with that show.
Boring as hell at the moment

lets face it, its a crows/power show.
best to have a crows & power perspective.
Cornes & Ditmar would be the best combo IMO

5AA is an amazing station in that they prefer their on-air "talent" to be as annoying as possible. I haven't listened to 5AA for over 2 years now because I just couldn't take it any more.

As much as I liked him as a footballer, the one person who has a laxative affect on me is none other than Stephen Rowe. I realise he seems to have a lot of fans out there, but I can't stand him. The moment I switch on for a footy commentary and learn that Rowe is one of the callers, I switch off immediately.

That continued high pitched whining is more annoying than 1,000 sets of fingernails scraping across a blackboard, and his stupid sayings are akin to an 8 year old mental patient.

In Rowe, the 5AA management realise they have a tremendously annoying person, and therefore he will be the one to replace KG. 5AA like that sort of thing.

I agree 100 percent with you re Stephen Rowe. Not even they could be so stupid to put that moron on more than he already is??? Then again they might put him on and then replace Cornesy with Amanda Blair. That would ensure 5AA have the worst two radio presenters together (Save for Nicky Downer and her fill in stint. Geez she was terrible!)

only a Glenelg supporter could suggest Cornes is great for radio....
He's ignorant & arrogant.

Isn't ingrained hatred of all things Glenelg the conversant bias that precludes you from making suggestions vis-a-vis Cornes?
