I haven't replied yet.
Strung 'her' along for quite a few days now so it's probably time to close it down, as 'she' won't keep emailing back.

Apologise and tell "her" you had to keep it going under the instruction of Interpol, so they could trace the emails location of origin.

If there's a chance they'll get cash they'll keep emailing.
If you string it, they will come.

It depends DB, I've had a conversation like this with someone purporting to be a Nigerian once and they cut me off once they realised they were wasting their time.

D,

I'm not messing you around, I'm trying very hard to help you.
Being an Australian you understand that everyone here is very lazy and we had a public holiday yesterday to celebrate Australia Day.
I'd really like to help you come back to Australia as I would like to meet you - you seem like a nice person.
I think you and I could be good friends.
I'll try and hopefully have something through to you tomorrow. The banks are very slow at the moment.

xxxx

I reckon you should tell her that as luck would have it, your brother-in-law lives in the UK (don't specify Edinburgh or London) and that because of the problem with the bank and Australia Day, that he has offered to deliver the money to her on your behalf and you will pay him back when the bank finally comes through for you. Ask Deb for a convenient time that brother-in-law can attend at 16 Eglington (whatever the address given was), and if Deb can forward a photo so that he knows that he is delivering the money to exactly the right person. That should bring things to a head, so to speak!

My last attempt for communication:

Deb,

I have not received a response to my last email.
Please reply to me to let me know everything is okay.
I have something very important to tell you, but I don't want to risk telling you in case something has happened to you and someone else is reading your emails.
Please reply,

Rob.

Dear Deb,

I have heard that you are suffering a misfortune in London and are currently camped at the German Consulate with no money to get home.
I'm hoping I can help. I have recently come into some funds from a Nigerian friend who needed to smuggle some money out of his country in a viagra shipment.
Please give me your details and I will send you some information.
I am currently single and looking for a wife, if I help you, would you be interested in meeting with me to see if we are a compatible pairing?
Much love,

(your name).
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.
