Cool, I am sure people would be happy lining up for Heroin too

might as well legalise that while we are at it.

I read somewhere that some place in either Turkey/Hungary has just de-criminalised all drugs.

It was on Sunrise.

Portugal did it 12 years ago, and the results have dumbfounded the anti legalise "experts". Drug use actually dropped.

"“You see, I think drugs have done some good things for us. I really do. And if you don't believe drugs have done good things for us, do me a favor. Go home tonight. Take all your albums, all your tapes and all your CDs and burn them. 'Cause you know what, the musicians that made all that great music that's enhanced your lives throughout the years were rrreal f@#$ing high on drugs. The Beatles were so f@#$ing high they let Ringo sing a few tunes.”

Marijuana Overdoses Kill 37 in Colorado On First Day of Legalization

Colorado is reconsidering its decision to legalize recreational pot following the deaths of dozens due to marijuana overdoses.
According to a report in the Rocky Mountain News, 37 people were killed across the state on January 1st, the first day the drug became legal for all adults to purchase. Several more are clinging onto life in local emergency rooms and are not expected to survive.

You shouldn't have said anything. People actually think it's true.

Guys it was a recent peer reviewed article from a mainstream scientific journal "Schizophrenia Bulletin", presented on "Medscape" which is a legitimate peer reviewed on line medical educational site based in the US.

The basis of Schizophrenia is multi-factorial - there are around 30 known genes linked to aspects of brain development that appear to be involved in being vulnerable to it. Marijuana use is simply one thing that can tilt the balance in vulnerable individuals. The immature, and still developing brain, seems to be particularly vulnerable. There is no evidence MJ induces Schizophrenia in adults, but it does seem to exacerbate it in adults already affected.

However, under 17s who use it regularly have a 25 times increase in risk compared with non-using adolescents.
I haven't got a link to that study done at UQ, but it too appeared in a peer reviewed Australian journal.

People will rationalise what they want to believe. There are those who will insist Ecstasy is totally harmless, even after seeing articles about the several kids in Oz who have died after having their brains poached by the hyper-pyrexia its serotonergic effect can induce.

PS:
I tried MJ a few times during the later 1980s , and just felt drowsy, slightly nauseous, and somewhat clouded in the head each time.
I didn't enjoy that experience, but then I like my brain functioning at its best.

Fresh unprocessed Coke almost straight of the tree was much more enjoyable the one time I tried it, but I didn't feel the need to chase it once I left the country it grew in... ;)
