Is this the coldest and earliest start to autumn/winter that we've had in a long time?

I haven't noticed it being more cooler so far this season than previous years

I have noticed that the late arvo's/early evenings feel cooler than they have been though

I recall the first few rounds of local footy being quite warm and requiring sunscreen.

I do recall reading that the earth experienced this same effect a few 100 years ago. I cant recall anymore detail than that but it was basically the same cause.
