nah, it's dying Rod. The senator is only replying to young girls now, a favourite target I'd guess.

Punk Rooster wrote:Mick, I'm not a "wowser" or "politically correct", but have had my attitudes to smokers shaped by those around me, & their selfishness.
Between the ages of 7-12, I had to go on long trips (3 hours one way) with 1 parent to see another, their partner smoked for the whole 3 hours in the car, something I detested. Smoking in the house was also a regular occurence.
I used to go out with a friend once a week for a meal- they used to light up before during & after, despite my objections & discomfort (it was all about "them"), so after choosing to ignore the signs of my discomfort, I decided to cancel our weekly dinners.
A former girlfriend of mine smoked in bed when we first met. After realising that the relationship was going somewhere, I gently suggested to her, that whilst it was her place & her right to smoke, if she continued smoking in bed, I would probably not stay over anymore. To her credit she ceased smoking inside altogether (& it would have helped her young daughter also...)

I do get the feeling that a couple of these would do a 180 just to walk past some poor bastard lighting up to rush back to their PC's to post their outrage.
So, in order to keep the post alive, we'll open it up. Revamp & ask the question again, to all comers.
The federal election was held last week. Howard got in by the skin of his sphincter, but the ''anti smokers moral party'' had a big result with 7 upper house seats. pafc1870, heater, mal, our-longreach (there's a funny user name considering) Punk,Dog-ger & MW have landed seats in the senate. Howard has to get his budget through, but with a minority in the senate must strike a deal with The ASMP.
The new members now have the chance to at last draft their his new tobacco smoking legislation.
These laws come into affect today, right now.
The floor is yours Senators, fire away.
