that's roughly an hour less than London gets today. Imagine what fun a really overcast day is up here The up side is that we get more hours of daylight in Summer but the winters do grind you down.

what are the summer daylight hours up there?

Don't know the sunrise/sunsets offhand...got those current ones from my weather widget. But in mid-summer it starts getting light around 4am and gets dark around 11pm. Although if the sky is really clear it only gets properly dark for about 2 hours and the rest of the night you could just about see enough without streetlights to find your way on foot.

*edit* I've just found some...for the Summer solstice it's sunrise 04:12am sunset 10:18pm...so would actually start getting light well before 4am (I was trying to remember from my days on night duty in my former life)
