Come on guy's...surely some of you remember the beach girl competition at Glenelg every weekend... It was a live telecast ( in the summer time of course) I can't remember who hosted it or whether it was a Saturday or Sunday arvo, used to get some real beauties walking the catwalk in those days. :D

Isn't that how Jane Reilly and Anne Wills were discovered?

Sunday arvo's indeed. We used to get home from Grandma's and I'd turn the TV on to see bikini's being judged (normally at a windy Glenelg beach). Quite a (good) shock for a youngster back then.

Anyone else remember the SAFA games being telecast on Sunday arvo's with Ian Aitken and Gary Window commentating?

Changing tack, I remember Amoco and Esso service stations (note the use of the word service!)

Two Dogs!
They were the best drinks ever.
I remember wagging in year 12 with my mates, getting a carton of Two Dogs, buying some hot chips and eating hot chip sandwiches while playing NBA Hangtime on N64!
Good times!

Yeah Two Dogs ! mmmmmm

On a side note: I used to work for an Airline Freight company, and the head honcho of Two Dogs came in to collect a package addressed to "Two Dogs". Gone up to the counter person (Jacko) and said I'm here for "Two Dogs" off flight blah blah...Jacko's looked at the flight manifest, didn't see any Dogs listed and told the bloke as such. The Bloke's looked at him a bit weird and said no mate "Two Dogs"...Jacko told him to wait until the freight came over. About 20 minutes later, Jacko's gone up to the bloke and said sorry mate, only got a cat off that flight, no sign of any dogs.

The Bloke said "Mate I work for Tow Dogs, and there was a package for Tow Dogs..", Jacko's reply "Look mate we got a cat no dogs"
Took the poor bloke to go out to his car, get a six pack of the stuff and show him  Never laughed as hard at work.....

Jacko swore he'd never drink it

when roller skating was the rage, used to skate regularly at the modbury heights rink (now a church I think) in the late 70's, and they used to have allnighters at the hindley st rink, we used to leave there at 6am and skate down the mall to catch our bus

Loved the Skateline at MOdbury (was huge mid-late eightees)... fond memories of apple cart races and of course the slow couples skates were nice

I remember "The Top Hat" existed.
I never went there, but I met the woman who ran it, and billed herself as Australia's only nude contortionist.
She tried to sell me an interest in the place, but I was more interested in residential property..
