If any of you have seen the "Low and Slow American BBQ" Food truck around at foodie festivals and taken up the offer you'll also be excited about this.

Opening soon in the Port this place will add to the already burgeoning food/drink culture that is growing in the Port region.

Big Shed Brewing at Royal Park offer some gold, Sweet Amber Cafe about to open on Semaphore Road will be serving local craft beers and foods ( then in time their own brews ) along with the Harts Mill Markets on Sunday morning and the odd Fork in the Road event also held in the Harts Mill precinct. Lots of good stuff on offer in and around the Port. This one, I can't wait to have some ribs, brisket and pulled pork dripping from my gob!

I just noted that a site I work at in the heart of Port Adelaide the staff are changing from their current long lunch day venue to the new 'low and slow'

I know they get talked about a fair bit, but i stopped by 127 Days for the first time in a few months.

The speakeasy didnt really tickle my fancy today, so i opted for the Godzilla.

When I ordered over the phone, i forget to get them to reduce the jalapenos a bit, so it burnt my f**kin face off.

Still an awesome burger.

I got about halfway through before I had to deconstruct it and just eat the meat and chicken.

The price has gone up a fair bit. Its gone from $16 a meal to $20, but worth it for the size. It will effect the amount of times I go there for lunch though.

Pros - Good size, well cooked, hash tags are on point and they stock Dr Pepper.

Cons - Price, bun got sloppy too quickly.

Overall (this visit) - 7/10

Silver Dragon Chinese Takeaway at Largs.

Laksa for the bride - rated excellent from the small sample I tried, shed loads of Chicken and other stuff.
Szechuan Fillet Steak - possibly the best tasting Chinese dish I've ever had and plenty of it.
Satay Chicken - the chook was a bit spongy which puts the missus off, but I thought it was excellent as did my eldest lad.
Large Fried Rice - top notch, none of this food court BS

$45 all up and well worth it .. Landed there as a result of catching up with some mates at the Birk for a little while, but will gladly make the trip there in future.

As far as Chinese grub goes, 8/10 based on today's experience.

Yessssssss, Silver Dragon, get around it :)

Is this the one around the corner from North Haven FC?

Wouldn't say around the corner, it's on Fletcher Road, just up from the Fletcher Road/Jetty Road roundabout.

Actually, it's only one if you take the back street Fletcher and Carnarvon instead of going the long way and having to chuck a U'ey on Vic Rd..

Breakfast at the Willaston Hotel yesterday morning. It's probably getting worse the food seems to be getting drier and drier, not much bacon, egg very dry, minimal sausages, minimal hash browns but plenty of baked beans. They're really cutting back on the amount of food they're bringing out which is a shame. Got a couple of their buy one get one free Saturday only breakfast vouchers so might have to try it on a Saturday one time instead of a Sunday.

TGI Fridays.

Ultimate JD Burger. Overcooked meat (medium well). Much better burgers and value and Chuck Wagon, Foundry etc. Not worth the $25.
Missus had a Chipotle Chicken Salad, descrption said blackened chicken (we expected grilled), but it was just cold chicken with a couple of spices. Salad mixture was OK.
Add on 2 cokes and was $35.90 with Ent Book but wont rush back.

Yeah my Mrs got me Gold class cinema tickets to Star Wars at Marion when its released and we were going to try this place as I have never been and have heard such mixed reviews.

Is it 2 for 1 Pag or a 25% off? $25 for a burger does seem somewhat exorbitant

Either way probably give it a bash just for the novelty. Just perused the menu and the grain fed 300g steaks for $32 look reasonable.

The best thing about the place when I went about a year ago was the Texans pennant on the wall.

Didn't rate the food, and didn't rate the price.

I thought you had a stiffy for American food

Perhaps we will just go elsewhere then. I don't really use the ent book around Marion so Im sure there are plenty of decent options.

I can't even remember what I had. I just remember I was disappointed with it, and it wasn't cheap.

I am an American cuisine fan, but I probably wouldn't go back unless I had to.

I've been to the Edinburgh in Mitcham a few times with a group.
I have not had one decent meal there and there is a tendency to under-cook poultry.

I've declared I'm never going there again.
