V8 supercars is certainly a bogan event. I have many bogan friends that went on the weekend.

BTW, some of the Benz supporters definately are not bogan ;)

so which other port supporters on here are you calling a bogan. maybe you should look in your own backyard before calling other supporters bogans

Getting made redundant this morning......
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

By that reasoning, because I follow Adelaide United I also march in groups of 50 people chanting nonsensical rubbish, and carry on like a lunatic when Melbourne Victory are in town.

LOL, so it is fair enough to label the clipsal a bogan event, but not supporters of your chosen football team?? double standards much?

and for the record, it is fair to assume that you behave like that as an adelaide united fan, but you forgot to mention the flares ;)

Yep, I passed plenty of bogans on my walk home the other night.

On a more serious note, it would be interesting to know what type of influence this car race has on driver attitudes/road safety, around the city in the weeks leading up to, and after the event.

Went for a bike ride yesterday while the Clipsal was on and all motorists were very considerate of an overweight man in Lycra!

i havent noticed any better/worse driver behaviour lately, or any other year around the clipsal. not that my observations count for anything. i dare say it would be hard to judge either way. if police issued more expiations was it because of clipsal or was it because there were more police "on the beat" due to mad march in general etc...

edit: after a quick google, it seems march is the worst month for crashes on the roads, but according to the article it is due to increased traffic (and traffic restrictions)

http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/news/sout ... 6585448747

of course, some of the comments are blaming "hooning" for the increase, but the article itself doesnt seem to suggest that.

I noticed yesterday there were more shithouse drivers on the road than normal .. Nothing to do with Clipsal though, everything to do with Sunday drivers just thinking they can move into your lane anytime it suits them, even when you're right next to them lol

Always someone looking for a computer nerd Choccies, you'll find something fairly quickly :D

Although, depending on how much money they're throwing at you to go, you might be able to spare a couple of weeks for some quality family time ;)

Best of luck on your search for a new job though..
