When, as a medical student, I was reading about Electrosleep for the first time, I wondered if there was a profitable service one could offer to parents but putting the kids to sleep at say 13 and keeping them there until 25 when the hormones had stabilised... ;)

It's horrific. The poor little boy wouldn't have had any idea why his dad was hurting him :(

Don't know all the details yet but unlikely as they're from Stepney not Athelstone.

feel sick reading about things like that.

i kinda hope the bloke was seriously mentally ill just so there could at least be some small mitigation for the rest of the boy's family, if that makes sense.

Anyone who does anything to a child has to be not right in the head - I heard this news this morning and all I wanted to do was get home and see my kids - as humans we are absolute monsters at times. Name me another animal that would harm their own, and we are supposed to be the smarter race.

My missus was messaging me about it today as her work is not far from where it happened. They had a ambulance, police car, paddy wargon all go past her work and this afternoon they were informed of what happened. How sad, can't believe a man would do that to his own son. Some people are so f**ked in the head.

If you are at the point where you even consider hurting your own child, GO AND GET SOME F***ING HELP. He should have killed himself rather than do his little boy harm.

No doubt he'll claim mental health and the justice system will go softer on him
And if he goes to jail he'll get protective custody
