Whoopee!

I take the "Advantage Saver" package with BSA annually for $395 which sounds like the same deal as yours. With the discount off home loans and Insurance, it fairly easily pays for itself. (Plus you get movie tickets cheaper or some other shit Ive never bothered looking into). Current rates I'm on with them are %1.98 Fixed and %2.59 variable (which is actually a bit higher than i thought).

Thats about as good as you can get JK with a major bank, there are cheaper deals with the non major's but they are very much online products with little service/relationship behind them.

Ive never fixed in my life, but we just fixed a portion at ANZ for 1.99% for 3 years.

hang on, don't you work for NAB?

I've hood my laptop up to a tv using a HDMI cable, the problem I have is that it cuts out the bottom half of my toolbar and basically trims off the edge all round.

It's not generally a big deal but the game we're playing on it atm has necessary icons that run across the bottom and the left hand side of the screen.

I either have to keep looking at the laptop screen (which defeats the purpose) or for now I have just defaulted the screen to centralize, this causes me to lose about two inches all round (And no, I can't really spare two inches).

Obvious response - you've tried the display settings and changing the resolution of the screen you're hooked up to?

Yeah mate, I might be better off trying to use it as a screen two instead of just duplicating the laptop screen, I've been messing with my settings here this morning to try stuff out.

I'm the same. I've got a 32 inch screen in our bedroom that's doubling up as a monitor as we both work from home. The resolution is terrible and i'm missing the top and bottom 5-10mm. When a window is expanded to full screen, I have trouble minimising it via the mouse.

I'm a minor player in the ASX and have a spare $1300 in my account to put in. Any suggestions out there?

Exactly the same problem with me, I've now given up and just centralized my screen, there's about an inch of blackness around the perimeter but the screen is far too big for what I need anyway, it's only a matter of time before the lad swaps it over with his TV anyway.

American Pacific Borates ASX:ABR
It should go back to $2 this year (+50%) then wait for 1-2 years to get a 5 banger

Or stick it into ASX:GEAR so you multiple your exposure - but that's both up and down

Get it done! Dying intestate causes all sorts of problems for those you leave behind. You'll leave behind a trail of destruction with family members bringing up old wars. Plus all those illegitimate children you never knew you had

It depends what you are worth and how simple you want it

If its simple then you can do one online: https://www.choice.com.au/money/financial-planning-and-investing/financial-planning/articles/will-kit-reviews
I did these for my children but I wouldn't use it for Mrs Jimmy and me

You also need to appoint an executor (or two)
Its not an easy job so most people wouldn't or couldn't do it (I'll do it if I'm the sole beneficiary)
You also need some other things done like an enduring power of attorney

Have you got a friendly solicitor you could talk to to see if you need more than the online one?

Thanks Jimmy, some good info, they used to have the service at work but don't they do anymore.

Yeah my Brother is a lawyer so I probably should ask him who I should go see, probably best to get it done right the first time and save the hassle.

Whatever you do, don't get it done through the Public Trustee. They won't charge you to do the Will but they will take a percentage of your estate. Go see a solicitor and get them to do it.
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep

No

Cost for a solicitor to do one?

Should be more like $400 for a simple will; for $800 you would want the Enduring Power of Attorney and Advanced Care Directive thrown in otherwise you're being seriously ripped off.

Sometimes it's a bit cheaper for couples to do them at the same time.

Don't use one of the online will kits.

Silly question but I just assumed you had to do them together.
