Didn't know where else to put this, so :

Its been teetering on the brink of collapse for weeks but China Evergrande, the country’s second biggest property developer, could be facing up to doomsday as it admitted it may not be able to meet its financial obligations.

With more than $A400 billion in debts, the property developer is dealing with several looming deadlines to pay up, as attempts to save it fall through.

An offshore bond payment that China Evergrande initially missed on September 23, but got a 30-day grace period on, is set to expire on Saturday with $110 million owing.

There’s another $60 million interest payment too, which wasn’t paid when due on September 29, and the grace period is also set to run out.

Discussions for a $A7 billion deal for Hong Kong-listed Chinese developer Hopson to take a majority stake has also fallen through.

Credit rating service Moody’s has basically given the property developer a junk rating, warning that there are “weak recovery prospects for Evergrande’s creditors if there is a default”.

Experts believe that China Evergrande’s collapse is all but inevitable.

Yikes.

We rely on Chinese economic growth for our economy to prosper, Evergrande is a property investor and if they fall over the Chinese property market would be hurt and that's one of their main economic drivers.

That also means China would slow down on buying iron ore from Australia so our commodity market would crash. They make more steel than anyone and over half of that ore they get from us.

Chinese property prices would fall, the middle class who ( not as much as they once did ) purchased items from Australia would feel the pinch and be less likely to spend.

Given their debt is all basically Chinese money ( not much $US involved ) the Chinese government may just help the banks absorb the debt, if not we might see our stock market seriously decline.

I'm mega conscious with this sort of stuff and can normally pick scams a mile away - the only reason I didn't click is because I haven't owned my 2003 corolla for over 10 years!

Big delete from me then...

Any budding greenthumbs out there that can give me some advice?

I have garden beds surrounding most of my backyard, there seems to be two sections that no matter whatever vegies I plant there they get decimated by insects and don't survive, I've tried spraying, tried the dust but still no good, is there a soil treatment I can try?

I have purchased large portable pots and have no trouble at all with growth despite only being metres away from the no go zones, it's doing my head in.

Not 100%, I haven't seen any trails and I wouldn't think they'd get so high on my broccolini's

I gave up on broccoli, cabbage, sprouts etc as cabbage moths always make a bee line for them and I got sick of the fight against their bastard caterpillars.
Maybe go out at night with a torch and look for snails or slugs. Whether you find any may determine your next course of action.

Good idea, I've basically given up on that area as I was hoping to grow cucumbers there, the only thing that is surviving is a chilli plant that has all of it's leaves diminished but is bearing peppers.

I'm probably just going to chuck some yukka's or agave's there.

Have your moths morphed into bees?
