Flight availability and booking etc. is a problem.

I must say, the girl from Virgin airlines gave me her personal phone number and said if there's any change at any time that she will log on from home and book us the next available flight.

The support we've had all round has been phenomenal.

doesn't hurt any less though seeing my lad upset.

We nearly lost our daughter to Meningitis when she was 6 months old, was in ICU for a week and the Docs thought that she might lose her hearing but thankfully she was ok. She had seizures for a few years after that as it was revealed there was brain scarring and we had to monitor her development up to the age of 5 or 6 I reckon. All good now just a typical moody 16yo girl. Scary shit!

All my annual leave will end up being carers leave anyway, I wont be able to go anywhere once we get transferred, only difference is that we'll be in a hospital in Adelaide, seeing a familiar face is so under-rated, I'd give anything to just hug my wife, daughter, sister or mum right now.

Pt Hughes in 2 weeks. I worked through Christmas & New Year so I am literally marking the days off the calendar.

A flying (literally) trip back to SA (heave away, haul away) for the weekend. Last visit to our home to tidy up a few things before it hits the market. An afternoon watching junior go through the hoops at cricket. Dinner plans Saturday night down the east end. Breakfast at Stirling Sunday am.

Without sounding horrible - but at least you can enjoy the holiday now without the threat of it being cut short for the kids...

Yeah absolutely and i get what you mean.

The kids are absolutely static about the holiday, counting down the days. It's almost worth it just to see their excitement each time they visit me.

I havent had any time of work since my last overseas holiday 6 years ago so absolute need a mental break from work.
