Getting the Spartans juniors off the ground after over 5 years of having none.

Lots of hard work but seeing their reactions to scoring the first TD made it all worthwhile.

Unfortunately we drew 6-6 due to a last play hail mary by the other team, but the boys put in a great effort.

Sitting around the house yesterday, decided stuff it, threw the swag in the back of the car, fishing rods, drove to the Riverland. Woke up this morning on the banks of the Murray, only sound being the wind and a rooster off in the distance. Perfect way to start the day

The upside of going see Rich Hall last night (see post in the Fringe thread) with my wife who has a fractured foot in a moonboot and crutches means we got special treatment and front row seats.

However, this also means that you're in the direct firing line of performers who want someone for audience participation stuff. Well, I was 'lucky' enough for Rich to chat with us and then hand me a microphone to 'sing' 'backing vocals' (a generous stretch of the definition there) along with him during one of his songs! For some reason I had a funny feeling during the gig he was going to pick us out. Never been an audience participant at a comedy gig before, and it's a bit nerve-wracking because you don't know what you're going to be asked to do and you don't get a say. The whole thing went down well, and I'd say it wasn't as embarrassing as other audience participation things that I've seen. I even had someone complement my singing voice (which is not that good) on the way out of the venue!

Friday midday in NZ back in the qantas lounge about to crack an ale... and write a report about my sales calls for the week. Could get quite creative!
