Fast Food??? mmmm

I find it intriguing how people who work at those franchises don't eat the food afterward.
I'm a fan of hungry jacks.
The burgers are better.
Their fries are better.
Their thickshakes are better.
I eat that shit all the time, still remain 85 kilo, but it's definitely not good for your health.
I know this coz of the phenomena we call "The Hungry's Hangover", where you feel crook about 10 minutes after eating the muck.
There's a reason.
In a regional town of 23,000 we support Pizza Hut, Pizza Haven, Hungry Jacks, Maccas, KFC, Barnacle Bills, two Subways, countless Chinese Outlets, and your various fast food small businesses amongst the community.

Does anyone out there believe Subway is of similar health benefits as these companies such as Hungry Jacks and Maccas.
I heard a footlong meatball sub has the same fat content as a Triple Cheeseburger meal at Maccas.
Any thoughts??

Interesting you say that. Any person i've known that has worked at Maccas or Hungry Jacks has had no problem eating the food from there.

I know a guy who worked for Lenard's (the chicken place) and he would never touch anything that comes from there

I believe Subway to be worse then Maccas, HJ"s, KFC etc... as they are tellling people their food is healthy, when it isn't.

Agreed, if my calculations are correct, i would say eating a foot long sandwich chocked with chicken, various dressings and cheese, it can't be much different to a burger from HJ's.
It's a foot of food!
That's alot.
So your eating a footlong piece of cheese, a foot of chicken and covered with the dressings.
Meanwhile they also offer the biggest drink containers available in Australian fast food.
their medium cup is a large anywhere else.

Jebus!

There's a place, I am guessing there's one near you AG.

Some are called Woolworths, some Coles. You can go inside and buy healthy food and then you can take it home and put it together and make a meal. Give it a go.

I concur with SMAC.. mate, honestly much cheaper and waaaaay more satisfiying for you to buy groceries and cook up some stuff yourself.. you could make some stuff like homemade yiros', home made hamburgers, home made toasted hot doggies, home made (yes cutting the pototoes up yourself and cooking em in the oven as wedges or even shallow fying as chippies).... why not have breakfast at home either try some pop tarts, waffles in the toaster or if you are into your muff in the mornings, buy a packet, stick in the freezer and toast one each morning top with your favourite topping... im sure you jest with that example of your daily diet.. sheesh if I ate that I would be 150kg... seriously it will save your wallet to purchase your own groceries, not only that but you can gain some culinary skills that may even be attractive to the opposite sex... i know that preparing your own food takes time ie the shopping, cooking and cleaning up but honestly it is well worth it for what you save in your hip pocket and around your waist. and btw dont be lazy... it takes more time but it is time well spent!! 8)
RIP my DH 1964 - 2009 - You were one of the best and I miss you

Haven't reached that stage AG, but i sometimes put a cheeseburger on top of my combo meal.
But i don't eat breakfast, just a massive lunch and tea.
Not healthy but can;t help but love it. :)

Subway is healthier - but it doesn't mean you can go in there and get whatever you want.
I love 'Food and Stuff'. It's where I buy all of my food. And most of my stuff.

Dude, go to Coles, but SFI and cheap cooking mag. Work out a 6 night meal plan buy the stuff and cook...Breakys are easy yoghurt with toast. Sandwiches for lunch with whatever, and teas as per the mag. Saves money as you don't impulse buy, the family and kids are happy as they know what you're having for tea everynight, and get them if you have 'em to have a choice. Leave one night for Chinese or Chicken n Chips.
IMy grocery bill is around $150 - $200 per week to feed a family of five. Includes incidentals like cleaning stuff, loo paper etc etc...
The joy of being on the hill drinking beer cannot be understated

I worked at the Hungry's on Hindley St (sadly now long gone. I was the first person ever to vomit in that restaurant 8) ) for a bit over a year. After I quit it took me about a year to work up the nerve to touch the "food" again. Believe me, seeing those meat patties go through the cooker was enough to put anyone off. Greyish and frozen when they go in at one end, bilious and pustulent when they emerge at the other. The large patties weren't so bad but the small ones would often burst when you tried to pick them up with tongs, shooting reddish fat out like a freshly-squeezed pimple. I started eating HJs again after some time had passed, but in these enlightened days I don't touch it simply because I don't like it. I get my artery-hardening burgers from the fish shop.
