Whitings overrated. Go for a serve of Snapper, Flathead or even Tommy Ruffs which all have a nicer flavour than Whiting. :)

For something truly unique just have some of our tap water when you get here.

C'mon Wedgie, Snapper is THE most overrated fish in the sea. Flathead and Tommies both great but the best of all is Flounder. Only good thing about Snapper is catching them.....

Depends how its cooked WCP. If its done perfectly on a Weber its awesome.
Flathead is my fav though.
Dont think Ive tried fresh flounder, will definately give it a go if I stumble across some. Tried some in a restaurant and it was ordinary but so is most seafood that isnt fresh.

Kitchener Buns -- Miss them terribly
Balfours Pies -- because they're square
Deli's that serve you double-cut rolls with whatever you want in them. Only a South Australian knows what a double cut roll is, because they stare at you blankly in every other state.
SA White Wine - Go with Chain of Ponds, fantastic winery
Sa Red Wine - I'm biased towards McLaren Vale and the so many options down there, with the exception of Grant Burge, who are a standout.

Eat at Paul's on Gouger Street
Eat at Magill Estate
Have a counter meal at Victor

I could go on forever
Do they still make bush biscuits that we had at primary school in the 70s?
Roger Woodcock -- 602 goals from a forward flank makes you a legend.

Grew up on frog cakes and have had 1000s, love 'em but very sweet and a bit sickly for those who dont like a lot of sugar.
Best ones are the green ones by far.
Then pink then brown.

JAS,
The German Arms at Hahndorf used to do a good Emu Pie. We get to eat our national emblems - Emu and Kanga - in Oz.
As red drinker you have to diligently compare those from the various regions, Adelaide Hills, Southern Vales, Limestone Coast, Barossa Valley, and the Clare Valley. In the Clare Valley a visit to the winery at the Sevenhills Monastery is a must - assumng it is still operating - I've been living in Victoria since 1999.
EPIGENETICS - Lamarck was right!

sorry to go off topic again, but sheesh anyone seen the price of a frog cake these days! $3.50 at the supermarket!!!

also I reckon a Balfours Sausage Roll is a must have "SA" food too.
RIP my DH 1964 - 2009 - You were one of the best and I miss you
