Love it! It just needs to be linked to the burglar alarm so it works automatically if the car is touched..

We had the missus' Laser stolen once (from Colonnades) and it got used in a robbery so least it gained some noteriety.

Gotta be careful at Prospect as its pretty common practise for the criminal element to float down to the better suburbs to ply their trade. Only SANFL ground I park on the roads (through no choice) is Norwood but am always wary there.

'better suburbs' and 'Prospect' aren't 2 words I've heard in the same sentence too often.

Anyhoo, I had a VL commodore stole from Marion, while I is was in Bunnings for no more than 10 mins. Same old story - it was used in a robbery, trashed then dumped. The good part for me was that sale value of the car was around $1k, but it was insured for $3k. I couldn't have been happier. Hope you get a similar deal bayman.

just had a phone call & the car has been found but they wouldn't tell me where & the police are towing the car to get fingerprints etc & will let me know when & where to pick it up etc when it's ready, i had absolutely no petrol in it & as i was running late yesterday i thought well i'll fill up on the way too elizabeth i presume they put petrol in my car because they could not possibly have got to stepney on what i had in the tank so i might have 1/2 to 3/4's of a tank  it made page 15 of todays paper but i really like the look of the picture to the left of the article about the robbery & my rego number, i didn't realise she was so hot

ps, i was ready to ring the insurance company tomorrow & the deal would have been satisfactory

I'd like to know which suburbs are immune to car theft.

Mum had her car stolen 5 years ago at Mile End, but got it retrieved the same night with paint work damage to the bonnet and a few other little things.

I don't think any would be immune but it does happen in some suburbs more than others, I remember there was something in the paper a while back, I think the CBD was the worst spot from memory.

And yes, her car at the time was a VN Commodore station wagon. ;) She doesn't own a Holden now, but not for that reason.

Sorry to hear about this, Bayman. Not good at all. Just a thought though - next time make sure you have an immobiliser put in. Cheaper than an alarm and cannot be stolen very easily.

Sorry to hear that happened Bayman, and thanks for letting us know this is a common occurance at SANFL games. I was aware that a number of cars get stolen from Marion & TTP, but not at footy games!

They would mainly be Commodores I would think .
I would like to say firstly to bayman I am sorry your car was stolen.I would also like to point out that while some people may take it as a joke to say its the guys from the poorer suburbs .I get offended by this as i live in the poor heartland of port adelaide.
Yes I have had a car damaged an old 81 sigma twice in fact someone stuffed the door locks.Well the second time just the drivers side .In the end I always left her unlocked and no one WOULD take her  .
If we are going to point fingers why are the guys who get caught growing drugs in MY ARERA always from the richer side of ADELAIDE!!
Makes you think no one is different form each other.

OK back on to cars had my 96 falcon for just over a year. The only ground someone did something to it was at UNLEY they tried to knick the LPG number plates!!.
