Nick X is the 3rd major party in SA politics!! Now thts populism!
At least he puts up more oppisition to Labor than the whole Liberal Party. I think SA needs him to keep Labor honest? How sad is that?

Very funny to me that Stormy Summers(1576) got more votes than Terry Cameron(348) and Ralph Clarke(829) put together.
Also pro Marijuana party does well again 5163 votes
Nick X will more than likely have balance of power in the LC! Effectivly controlling SA politics.

For the voters who are sick of voting with either of the major parties,Nick Xenophon gives them an alternative.
The Democrats have fallen by the way side, the Greens have never been popular and as always the Cone-head party get a few wasted (ha ha) votes.
Goes to show, not many Joe Publics care for Labor or Liberal, and dont really understand the amount of power that has been handed to the No pokies MP.
Makes me wonder at times,is my wife a No Pokies advocate?

Go the X-factor, I think Rann will now be sucking up his ar$e if policies are to be passed. Good work to the Labour gov, hopefully can keep on pressing the Fed. Gov against workplace reform. Sucked in to the Democraps, thats what happens Meg Lees when you become a sell-out and allow the GST to stuff up things.

I thought it was still harbour, and Harbor was only for Victor Harbor because of the German influence? (I can't remember exactly now)

Well spoken Wedgemeister.

As I type this I have just returned from a coffee break, at which I denounced the entire electoral system as fundamentally flawed, for not only letting the xylophone back in to power but giving him a stooge as well.

I remember well when the croquet club was getting booted off Glenelg Oval, I was all set to go down and sign the petition to keep the club where it was. Then the xylophone turned up on his one-trick pony dragging his sad little bandwagon behind him. Instantly the xylophone broke into spasms about the evil evil footy club with the evil evil pokies trying to kick off the poor widdle community club, thereby turning the whole issue into one of dirty pokie money.

The man is a menace. That froot loops like him, and the fundies from family first, can achieve any sort of influence on the political process is a sad indictment of democracy.

One positive thing did come out of the election: one sad little turncoat who dropped his scruples for personal gain and glory finally got his comeuppance.

Yes this was good news indeed, second only to the defeat of that other notable turncoat, Cheryl, getting her just desserts in the Federal sphere a few years ago. With regard to pokies, I would rather our footy clubs did not have to rely on them for survival  but the genie is out of the bottle. Nothing that Mr X does will significantly impact upon them, despite his power in the LC. The government is addicted to the revenue :D

It is still harbour, labour, colour as long as you have learnt the Queen's English. I'm assuming that a significant portion of our population was spawned by the poms hence the fact we are part of the Commonwealth (so far  ).

It is trendy now to take the "u" out of these words as we form stronger bonds* with the United States. We will soon be pronouncing derby as derby.......

Australia must still be very democratic when it comes to the media. In most countries (U.S. too), the little person (Xenephon) would get no media coverage at all if the two major parties wanted that person ousted.

I worked for the SA Dept of Marine & Harbors for 9 years, it's previous name was the SA Habours Board.
State legislation also reflects the spelling, with the Harbors and Navigation Act 1993

South Australia is the only state to have adopted the US spelling.

The current spelling of the Australian Labor Party was adopted in 1912, due to the influence of the American labor movement. Source: http://www.alp.org.au/about/history.php
