How funny was the policeman...surprised they got away with some of his lines.

Always preferred Allo Allo to Dad's Army which gets endless repeats here.

The Goodies - magnificent
The Two Ronnies - very dry
The Young Ones
Yes Minister
Fawlty Towers
The Comedy Company

Other comedy:

Shane Warne's dismissal of Mike Gatting - "that ball"
Steve Bradbury winning Winter Olympic Gold
Eddie the Eagle
Plugger and the Piglet, Gatting and the piglet
Darryl Cullinan's average vs Australia
Steve Bradbury and Michael Milton. Aussie Legends.

a couple of classic moments, when the band break into the theme from Hawaii Five O when the American ambassador walks in and it was supposed to be the National Anthem
and when the security guard Rudy thinks he is talking to Neil Armstrong on the moon on his walkie talkie

Way ahead of ya gdb :D

The Dish has been on tv here quite a few times now...another favourite.

Love the way that poor bugger in uniform is always trying to tap off with the mayors daughter...and the guy from 'Men in Black 2' who plays the Yank liaison guy who's baffled by the laid back Aussie culture.

...now on "Rules Of Engagement" on Ch. 10, Patrick Warburton. The Dish is a brilliant movie, gets to a point sometimes of "Spot The person who's done other stuff on Aust TV" (Eliza Szonert, Lenka Kripac - the mayor's daughter etc etc). Sam Neill at his driest at times.

Kingswood Country was great, grew up with it and like most on here, still use some of the lines on it. I think Brad is correct about Ross Higgins and Judi Farr, was a very sudden departure on her part.

Hey Dad! wasn't a classic as such, but still gave plenty of familiar lines..."Pencils ready, commence", "..but I'm only a little kid"...

Jack Smethurst I think ?

Also, the guy who played the "NigNog" has gone on to do many comedies. He is the black copper in The Thin Blue Line with Rowan Atkinson. Don't know if you ever got that prog down there though.

Does anyone remember seeing a series of Brit comedy films starring a guy called Will Hey. also had Moore Marriott in them and another dude who's name escapes me.

They were a bit like a Brit version of the 3 stooges. Probably 1920;s or 30's ish.

Oh Oh and what about Harold Lloyd. Silent movie gut that did some incredible comedy stunts.

Never a fan of the Two Ronnies but I reckon this was their best sketch...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cz2-ukrd2VQ

However Eric and Ernie were compulsive viewing. For those not around at the time almost nobody else could get away with kind of sketches and 'plays what I wrote' involving the arts heavyweights of the time...Andre Previn, Glenda Jackson, Lord Olivier to name just three...

this will always be my favourite...
