GT stripes should only be placed on GT's.

On that, the 'GT' seems to be wearing thin with me.For mine,GT's have always been about being 'limited' in some way and the mass producion of them in the modern era does not sit well with me. I feel each new model should be limited to a few hundred GT's this way having one would be so much more exclusive. For those mugs out there buying them and storing them in the hope that some day they will be as much of an investment as the 1960/70's versions have proven to be recently may well be sadly mistaken. * See the limited part of my rant *

Mind you,the price some people paid in recent years for XW/Y GT's has been insane ( 500k+ ) and that market has already died down. So,if you were silly enough to pay that money for a HO three years ago it would be well below that now,and you probably haven't driven it.....some investment.

It's ok though smac, you can get a Ford, you'll just be taking money out of the Doggies pockets*....as long as you can sleep at night.

*Not directly,I know

Agreed Punky, the black is probably the exception to the rule.
Now that Geelong and Ford have announced another 5 years to their world record sponsorship I think they should put out a colour scheme with blue and white horizontal stripes. ;)
Always liked the redmp, black and navy blue, also like the fluro green but love the new green that copies the SV6 colour.

Nothing wrong with a Black & Gold colour scheme (think Lotus F1 circa 1985-86), unlike Black & Yellow, which would look terrible... :vom:

I haven't compared them lately, but I didn't like the last Falcon I drove as a hire car in 1998. I preferred a Mitsubishi Lancer I hired in 2003 for a few days.

Is it some form of tribal thing like Hells Angels bikes and "No Jap S..t"?

I'd go for the Ford for 10k less, as long as you could ensure I'd get the same price as a Commodore at the time of trade in/resale.

Glenelg's colours have always looked black and yellow to me.
As a kid I wondered why they called it "black and gold" but never used a gold in their colours.
Mind you the same went for Torrens "blue and gold".

I'm as Ford as you could get (drive XR8 ute) but if there was a 10K difference between the two it'd certainly test my allegiance...

I actually haven't driven a VE but the new Ford G6E is a beautiful drive.

I'd pocket the 10K. As mentioned already, there's not enough difference between the two to knock back that sort of saving...

There just domestic "cooking" cars, or whitegoods you wouldn't agonise over a microwave oven or a washing machine would you? Go for the one with the best financial deal. Is your boss paying the FBT? otherwise a novated lease is not that great, you need to drive a lot of km to make it pay.

Will get the k's up easy enough Mick, anticipating 30k at this stage next year. The FBT is reduced to half, an exemption for them being a not-for-profit organisation. Works out a tremendous deal for me, costing me less per year to run than my current car.

Here's the kicker... Effectively, my ex-wife pays for 1/3 of the car due to reduced maintenance payments.

I was in a similar position (non profit org - novated lease through salary sacrifice and divorced), you should be aware that the grossed up amount will appear on your group certificate, this is what the child support agency, Centrelink etc base their calculations for support. It might be worth talking to a professional concerning possible unforseen problems
