Well, 20 years ago. As did "Hail Mary" before that.

I still recall the old independent cinema on Hindley St (what was that called again? long gone now) being laid siege to by catholic halfwits who'd get stuck in to anyone who had the temerity to attempt crossing their blockade line to see "Hail Mary". Never mind that none of them had bothered to see the movie themselves. Halfwits.

I finally got around to watching "Last Temptation..." in the early nineties and found it to be the most pro-Christian flick I'd ever seen. If any of the god-botherers had actually watched the film, they'd have seen it was harmless. Halfwits...

Was referring to Nikos Kazantakis' book, published in 1951.

Not surprising that Scorsese's adaptation is pro-Christian, he's a devout Catholic who nearly became a priest.

Good film, if a little long.

Clearly remember the protests outside the old Greater Union in Hindley Street when the film was released.

I wrote Da Vinci Code original

AN Adelaide author is taking legal action against Dan Brown, author of worldwide bestseller The Da Vinci Code, and the book's publisher, claiming breach of copyright.

Enzo Fardone, who claims to be an expert on the history of the Holy Grail after more than 20 years of research, yesterday accused Brown and Transworld Publishers, a London-based division of Random House, of plagiarism...

IMO, definately read the book first. Can't imagine how difficult the movie would have been to follow otherwise.

Reading the book AFTER the movie would (IMO) be a let down.

Never understood this whole book v movie debate.

Two completely different mediums that should be judged on their own respective merits.

i read A&D's and think that should be made into a movie too, absolutely brilliant. :D bought his other 2 yesterday and plan to read them asap, cant wait :D

i def need to see the DVC again....the last 30 ins i was busting to take a piss and didnt want to leave so i kinda was a bit distressed during the ending ;)

as i said before, more background is needed on certain aspects and should have added an extra 30 mins onto the film, it wouldnt have done any damage to it, ppl would still watch all of it.

And yes, read the book first but dont try and associate the book while watching the movie, you will get kinda lost.
