safooty was down for me, but several other sites I use were fine.
Interestingly, the Redlegs site on the safooty servers came back some time before this site.

It was weird about that, I was going to repair the databases but it was telling me we had none which means the Norwood forum shouldn't have been working.
I'll be having several words to my webspace company who have been really good but we are playing an extremely good price for their services.
First they told me it was because of memory and that I needed a server with 512mb at least, I then told them that the deal I have with them should give me that, they then told me it was disk capacity which it clearly wasn't too.
Will be doing my most to ensure this doesn't happen again, its not like its happened at a time when the site was getting inundated, this should be our quiet time.

These days from our sponsor sportsbet.com.au. (We've had many other sponsors and various people have put their hands in their pocket at various stages which I'm glad to say we don't need to do these days)
It has varied over the years but originally I could run it on webspace that cost less than $10pm where these days its being hosted on webspace that costs more than $100pm.

Your dh was a wise man there Lunchcutter (which I'm sure you knew ;) ), one of our computers at work imploded a couple of months back because a staff member had being 'farming' too much and picked up something.

Facebook is good for staying connected to people via photos and status updates, but everything else is just a waste of time as far as I'm concerned.

It's simple just hit the 'ignore' button when you get sent app by others.

Agree with Ginge it is brilliant for keeping in touch. I'm now back in touch with my cousins in Ireland after a 40 year gap and I can also keep in touch with people when they move around eg when they do tours in Afghanistan.

Touch wood I've not got anything nasty from it so far...you just need to use common sense...if in doubt don't open it.

P**s weak SA Footy !
For a while there I thought I might actually have to do some work.
Fortunately I remembered 'Age of Empires' and it was instant relief !
(And a damn sight more entertaining !)

While the site was down and I was trying various options to check it ws global, I noticed my link from the Redlegd site looks for http://www.safooty.net/forum/
while the direct link I saved as an independent looks for http://safooty.net/forum/
Both seem to work and the text below explains why..

If you've been banned you'll receive a very specific message from the site telling you that you've been banned. The people that get permanently banned are a very small minority so you'd have to do something pretty bad and usually be warned by pm beforehand.
