I've voted for Maryann, because that's the question. However, can I just say that as a 10-year-old and even when watching Maryann in the same checkered top, I actually found Betty and Wilma (in particular) incredibly hot.

I can't believe Fred and Barney spent so much time out bowling, considering what was at home for them.

Classical!

Then there was CHiPs, the Dukes of Hazard, Magnum PI, Cagney and Lacey, The Professionals, Miami Vice, Minder, The Goodies, The Two Ronnies, Benny Hill.

These days its Australian Idol, Dancing with the Stars, Big Brother, Who wants to be a minnnnionaire and of couse, Sunday night Bingo at home. All that crap makes Mrs Howell a standout, but Ginger vs Mary Ann is a difficult one!

Can't forget (in no particular order) -- COUNTDOWN, The Rat Patrol, the Brady Bunch, the Kenny Everett Video Show, Emergency, Kojak, Nightstalker, the Banana Splits, Petticoat Junction, Greenacres, Gigantor and (wait for it) KIMBA THE WHITE LION!!!!!!

Who Lives Down in Deepest, Darkest Africa?
Whose the one who bought the jungle fame?
Who believes in doing good and doing right?
Kimba the White Lion is his name.

When we're in trouble and we're in a fight
Whose the one who just won't turn and run?
Who believes in doing good and doing right?
Kimba the White Lion is the one.

COUNTDOWN replays late at night on weekends on pay tv on the music channels are simply ENORMOUS.
I remember being truly stunned when told by a friend around 14-15 that everyone who went on the show actually mimed (she had been over to Melbourne for a taping). I couldn't believe it.
You watch the old tapes these days and I wonder if anyone was ever actually sober when they went on?????

There are some classics of Molly. Top of the Pops was huge in the UK also. These days they are now counting music downloaded on line towards chart positions - once upon a time it was all sales of 7 or 12 inch vinyl! (Can you buy a NEW record player anywhere these days?)

When talking music shows, the others were Nightmoves (the only place you could see the Duran Duran 'Girls on Film' clip), Trax, Sounds (or Sounds Unlimited maybe) and whatever that show was hosted by Lee Simon, late on Sunday arvos on channel 10 when he was wielding the world's biggest mullet / mohawk thing.

Ginger or Marie-anne

Postby Moe » Sun Jan 03, 2010 12:26 pm

In reading Shoe Boyys post in the 3rd Test forum,
"Nothing wrong with Gilligans Island", I pose the 30 Year old Question,
Who would you choose, Ginger or Marie-Anne?
For me, I am not a fan of high maintenance (see Moe's post on Nicky Visser in Footballers from school) so it's Ginger out, Marie-Anne in!

Could never see what the fuss was about with Ginger. Give me Mary-ann every day of the week, and twice on Sundays. Looks better, nicer personality, doesn't think she's God's gift to men, ... and she cooks!!!
