Adelaide's road system is the worse in the country!

I can take up to 5 different journeys to work, all of them have some form of roadworks going on.

Yep, Findon Rd is getting there.

I heard someone say the other day - "South Rd, a good place to avoid for about, umm, 2 years"

Churchill Road is another one that's been a mess for about 12 months now. Started out as a footpath upgrade now the whole road's been resurfaced and I have no idea what they're doing now, and no idea when it is due to be done.

It was meant to be next in line after the Gallipoli underpass........................then someone came up with the Superway idea, I think that stretch has become "too hard" with the railway crossing, as well as the Port Rd and Grange Rd intersections as well

Changed from 40 to 25 yesterday, stupid bastards seem to be doing the works randomly bit of paving here, landscaping there. Don't know why they can't do it in continuous sections.

typical....get an idea and its abandoned. Still that stretch is dangerous. Not very hard to move the power poles back and widen that stretch....gees the footpaths on that stretch are nearly 2 lanes wide. plenty of room. I heard the sub station at the corner of port road and south road just before the train line is the major problem ...to expensive to move or relocate?

That's the most frustrating bit of it. It's a lottery what section will be done on any given day.

Best ones with the stop/go signs was last year during the railyards work they used to have a stop/go sign person stick the stop sign out to let their mates out of the site car park!

This is the time of year when government departments are busily making sure they spend the financial year's budget in full so they don't suffer a reduction for next year.
You can expect roadworks to be going on at night under flood lights from now until the end of June.

I have memories of a Chief Clerk at an Adelaide hospital running around trying to get doctors to request replacement loose rugs for their offices.
He was trying to spend $100,000 in small bites that he didn't need to request authority to spend from head office.

Now they want to come in another 10m and there is a real danger of only having 3 out of the 9 holes open

Is a good course MT, not overly difficult unless u get into the bunker on the par 3 2nd... then u may be lucky to have a 5 or 6 for the hole ;)

at the moment its down to 6 holes out of the 9.

1st par 4
2nd par 3
3rd par 5
4th par 4
5th par 3
6th hole now is the old 9th hole and has been shortened to about 150-200m depending what tee u use.

Should be really good after the back half of the course is rebuilt

Well looks pretty awesome - however with my 'fear' of going under 'overpass' things - and the knowledge of having tonnes and tonnes of cars and trucks above my head - I don't like the bit that joins together and you travel under for a few k's (it seems)

So hopefully I'll only ever need to travel on top of and not under !

lol
