One day soccer players will develop their basic motor skills to use their feet and their hands which most humans are able to manage by the age of 8-9...

Honestly mate that argument is simply laughable....One of the 1st things a baby does is to clasp a finger or something with his or her hands.Humans minds are designed to grab with the hands, it is the most basic of the basic instincts.Try standing down the local park and having a ball kicked to you from 40 m away at chest height and get it to the ground at your feet and under control without using your hands. It's a masterly skill that requires much training and at the International level every player does time and time again without a miss.Picking up an oval shaped ball with the hands is cave-man stuff .
It is your call if you think the game is backward .Just as it is mine to call what we call Aussie Rules insignificant.

I do believe I am in the general discussion board but I will check that and get back to you.
Dear me, the narrow minded are very touchy about the World Cup at the moment for some reason .Maybe the insecurities realising just how little our game is in the big wide world concerns some a hell of a lot more than it does me .I think it is a great" boutique" game we have here in Australia by the way .

LOL
Every appendicular skill in isolation is easy. When you need to combine the two "upper" and "lower" is when it becomes difficult. Axial and appendicular skills are easier to do than to seperate appendicular skills.
Chesting and kicking, pfft, my South American coach taught me that at the age of 10. South Americans have a far greater appreciation for the all the skills of soccer than the Anglo based coaches. It ain't ******* difficult
Add the difficulty of the relatively unpredictable oval shaped ball compared to the round ball and no uestion which is the more skilfull or difficult.
