Victor harbor was spelt without a u when it was first settled, some say it was a mistake, but that's they way it is spelt.

As for only the Yanks spelling Harbour with out a u, South Australia was the another place to do so for more than 20 years, in the '70's the SA Harbours Board became The Department of Marine and Harbors, the Govt. of the time decided the Yanky spelling was the way to go.

I think the "namesake" for the Barossa Valley actually has 2 x r's. Cant rrecal why I remember that but does go back a long way

IIRC The original Barrossa was in Spain where Colonel Light fought during The Penisular War. Not sure why the spelling changed though.
