The Gruen Transfer played an ad a few weeks back in their quest to find the Worst Ad On TV. This was nominated - days after I had been wondering what became of it. The girl in red bears a striking resemblence to Sophie from Neighbours (its years old, though)

There was also an ad in the late 70's/very early 80's about water, it was realeased by the govt of the time and it was also brought out on record. A girl I went to school with and her sister were the voice overs for it. I can't for the life of me find it anywhere on Youtube nor can I find anything about it on the internet anywhere. It was called "take it easy this summer". Started off something like:

Sister: Hi My names "X" and this is my sister Sarah, she's 4..

Sarah: 4 and a half!... (then she does her little intro and goes into song)

there'll be no more trees, no buzzy buzzy bees" (cant remember the rest)

Actually, another ad has just come to mind which was one of my all time favourites and I still quote it whenever I hear a phone ring:

It's under the bonnet son btw, I can't find this ad ANYWHERE on Youtube for some reason. Was this a Telstra/Telecom ad.

I can remember that one, i thought it was later than late 70's/early80's era though. Long time ago regardless of when it was.

I can recall the tune in my mind although i can't recall the exact lyrics. I do remember a couple of the lines - "a dry swimming pool" ...."thats where we'd be without water" however.

One ad i can remember from late 70's went something like this (theme might have been "have a go")
