They dont HAVE to send out renewal notices, its more of a courtesy. Its up the registered owner to know when their own rego runs out. If you got done for not being registered, that excuse wouldnt hold up.

The EzyReg app is good. You can check any cars rego expiry date.

Not quite correct - as CTP insurance is still included in the price of registration, paperwork is legally required to be posted at least 14 days before renewal is due.

Once the Government ditches the CTP insurance and makes everyone get their own (like in NSW I think) then it probably won't matter..

You mean gives the government another way to force SAPOL to raise money they cant raise theirselves. SAPOL should only have to police the state, not fund it as well. SAPOL gets a bad wrap when they are made to do it, they have no choice in the matter.

There are 4 ways to be reminded about your impending car rego expiry ... rego renewal letter, subscribe to either email or SMS alerts through DTEI, getting one of the those RAA stickers, or just take responsibility and faarking remember yourself ...

or just write the expiry date on your windscreen, in small letters, where the sticker WOULD have been.
