1: Having all 3 of my kids together for the first time since Christmas 2018, made some gourmet pizza's and may have had a drink or two.
2: Took the lad out to valley View Golf Course yesterday, we had a good day, downside was just about every time anyone let us "play through", I totally f***** up my tee off.

Signed up 2 weeks ago at the local golf club as it is only open to members only at this stage. Asked about my lad (8) as sometimes he just comes with me, they said he needs to be a member too to come on the course as there are some on the committee who want the course closed full stop, so dont want any little reason for them to get upset. Anyway $70 for him for a year so signed him up too, took him Thursday for a few hours whilst the power was off after the thunderstorm, he took himself to the oval on Friday to practice and asked me first thing in the morning both Saturday and Sunday to go out to the course, which we did.
He may have a bit of the golf bug, he is dead keen!
Reckons he is going to practice after school again tonight!

Absolutely. He was really looking forward to footy starting but understands it probably won't start for another 12 months (would be good for kids development if we could squeeze in even 3 or 4 games).

I've been capping him at 5 or 6 holes each time so it doesn't become a chore.

Nice, a good age for the lad to take it up too. Just make sure it stays "fun" for now.

By memory you are up at Clare..... nice course there too, good greens. I will never forget that par 3 down the hill.

In a purely golfing sense, I think thats the most memorable hole I've played. Was a real buzz the first time around especially.

We just found a local reserve to hit a few balls first yesterday seeing that I hadn't gone for a round for at least 4 years and I think the lad has gone once with school.

I was surprised at how he picked it up, his drives were more consistent than mine but I'm not too shabby at putting..................but then again, he's a prick like that, when he was 4 he kept wanting to have a game of darts with us, I finally let him and he beat me, pegged out first shot at double 20, it must've seemed like it was 3 storey high.

The worst part is, I used to play competition darts and wasn't too bad at it, we're pretty even at 8 ball too, at a guess he'd be a better bat than me now at cricket, we were meant to have a few games together in the season just gone but his illness stopped that happening.

If you get a chance, take your son to Valley View, a peaceful par 3, you can make a mess of your tee off and still get on the green on your 2nd pretty easily. $15 for adults and $11.50 for kids.

Balaklava. Been jumping around the holes a bit to play mainly par 3s. Yesterday we played the same 2 holes (3 and 10) 3 times each as they back on to each other. Have putting contests etc to keep the fun up.

Yes that par 3 at Clare is amazing. As is a similar par 3 at Sandy creek course.
Always try and sneak in at least 2 shots (more if nobody is waiting or looking) every time you play them

It's been awhile but something like that. Just a pitcher from way above the hole.

I used to spend ages hitting balls off of the 3rd. Great hole for practising your short irons.

I just googled mapped it, I haven't been there.
