Ok makes sense. Ill look into it a bit more. I really enjoy study, and need some sort of qualification.

With Open Uni you can put all the units onto this (even if you're not enrolled into the course/degree), so you don't have to fork out the cash up front. Undergraduate unit costs range from $750 - $1400 per unit. So it adds up quickly.
Best thing to do is enrol in units that are part of the course (degree) you wish to do and then once you've done enough (I think it's 4 as previously mentioned) you can apply to be accepted into the course.
PM if you've got any questions, I have just finished my Bachelor of Accounting through Open Uni.

Knowing my luck, it's underwater :?

NFI why, considering it's location.
I've just looked at the traffic website.
There is literally no physical way I can get home tonight without experiencing lengthy delays/roadworks/road closures.
This gives me the shits even more.

They should be strung by a rope and used as live bait to train lions.
I reckon we used to have a few trainers (or owners) on SAFooty at one stage - better not have been any of them.
