I have a buck show in Adelaide this weekend. Hope they don't shut down the Casino or Crazy Horse.

You jest, but an effective response would be to close restaurants, cafes and bars etc. for a couple of weeks.

Hopefully not this weekend. I've been looking forward to this for quite some time. I have no doubt that it will happen at some stage though.

All world leaders need to just shut down the world for 4-5 weeks.

Everything, except emergency services, military (to help enforce) and supermarket staff to process online orders only (no stores open)

Just shut it down and after the 4-5 week period is over and it's all gone, go back to business as usual

As much as i think a lot of this situation is madness i 100% agree with you. Just lock us all down and get it over and done with ffs.

I cant understand why we are taking these baby steps when we know what point we are going to end at. One theory i hear though is that we are currently in a position where the government is giving everyone a chance to get home in preparation for the 'lockdown'. That i suppose makes a bit of sense to me.

I just wonder how long we will let this go for. I mean the virus and it is that a virus is spreading. We know the fatality rate is low at the moment with the over 60s are the greatest risk of this.

A lock down or a shut down us see if we to stop the spread an limit the high risk people the chance of exposure, so given what we know and how this thing moves, what are we waiting for?

Alan Anderson, a scottish comedian, has been in Adelaide for the Fringe and was due to go to Melbourne for their comedy festival but that has been canned. He has sick and aging family back in the UK so can't head home for 6 weeks, despite having a 6 & 9 yo sons.

He also likes to ride his bike, so seeing he has time on his hands and the Indian Pacific Wheelrace starts in Perth this Saturday, which goes Perth>Adelaide>Melbourne>Sydney he is jumping on a plane and going to ride across the country to kill some time!

He aint real fit so it should be worth following on his FB page - https://www.facebook.com/TourClownUnder ... url3o_SVH0

Don't you think you have a social responsibility to cancel it and not go out?

As of next week the Uni is moving to online delivery of courses. Students will watch recordings of lectures at home and do prac work at home. Going to be fun lecturing to an empty room...

I reckon that's where we'll be heading as a school too.

Ok so if we were to lockdown completely at what point would it be ok to open up Australia and start letting people come in? Then if we have another outbreak do we lockdown again?
Do we need infection to build immunity?
I dont have the answers, just posing the question

I shudder to think what you'd do in an empty room.

My lad was saying that he reckons they'll bring forward the school holidays and extend them to 4 weeks.

I've stayed away from work today, and most likely will all week as I have a slight fever, dry cough & body fatigue. All flu like symptoms. I called my GP and went through the questions they ask, they referred me to the 1800 number which as you can imagine is overloaded. I called the local hospital that has a Covid-19 testing area, however I don't meet all the requirements for testing. So I am stuck. Whatever I have won't kill me (I hope) but I do feel shit house. My biggest concern is spreading whatever I have to others in these uncertain times.

Anyone who backed me @ $1.05...... we are waiting on the developed print!

If schools close we might as well lock down everything except essential services.

Hell no.

Indeed. How are the strippers going to eat if nobody's there to stuff dollar bills into their lingerie?

A bloke at work got "tested" for the virus after getting a fever and a cough.
It involved someone asking him if he'd been overseas recently or if he'd knowingly come into contact to with someone who had been overseas recently.
When he answered no to both questions they said he was clear and could go back to work!

If they do close down bars I wish they'd started yesterday!

That is the dumb part of it, how the hell would he know that the person he stood behind at the checkout hadn't just got back from Iran?
