I had something like it in the 1970s but hardly ever used it.
It used CO2 cylinders you screwed into it to inject the gas into the water in the canister under high pressure.
The carbonation was rather weak though compared with commercial products.

I drink soda water from mine every day. So if you're thinking of using it for soda water based drinks, it would work.

As for flavours with alcohol, never tried it. The lemonade flavour is on the money. The lime flavour is great too.

how much does a replacement cylinder cost?

Home brand Soda water cost next to nothing - is it really viable?

Doesn't matter what brand it is. My local Supermarket has had 1.25L bottles for around $1 each for the past couple of weeks.

I drink 2 bottles of soda water everyday and for me the Coles brand is the best at 80 cents a bottle. I would rather drink that than Schweppes

I was drinking around 2L of soda a day.
Say $2

My soda stream costs $20 to refill and does 60L and I don't have plastic bottles everywhere, it was a no brainer

It's even more horseshit when you compare it to a similar fine I received on my last trip to Tassie.

81 in a 70 zone... the fine - $110! Yep, you read it right...$110! That's almost like a small win!

Compare that to mine in NSW in 2010. 108kph in 100KPH zone $87.
And when the speed limit changes it is painted on the road in large print not hidden on a small sign behind a convenient bush.

Then, the latest information I have is that the SA deficit has now reached $14 billion and the interest cost is $2.2 million a day.
